I have had a lifelong dedication and commitment to athletics and fitness from sports participation from an early age through collegiate football at Brigham Young University to a degree in Exercise Physiology. I have always been fascinated by the function and performance of the human body and keenly interested in improving that performance as well as appearance. I have continued that dedication to the present as a competitive and title holding bodybuilder - still competing on a national level. It has given me insight and expertise in transforming body composition through exercise and proper nutrition.
Having been a personal trainer for 25 years, I have gained experience in helping individuals at all levels with far ranging goals and needs to achieve their best. With a scientific approach and understanding of biomechanics and physics I bring a “smarter” methodology to resistance training. Rather than fads and trends, I utilize tried and tested techniques based on real science to get real and lasting results.
I continue to expand my knowledge base with ongoing education and recently completed an intensive course in Arizona at the acclaimed Athletes Performance Center ( where pro athletes go to train) where I learned the latest science in training technique and nutrition for optimal performance. My goal is to help clients understand not only what they need to do but to understand why they are doing it; to know and appreciate their own body and have the strength, stamina and energy to really enjoy life and be healthy.
I design specific programs for each individual (as opposed to a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all approach) to match their goals and desires to their abilities and life circumstances. It is a comprehensive program that includes diet/nutrition counseling and strategy, weight/resistance training, and cardio/aerobic training; all necessary and important elements to any successful lifestyle plan.
